Hi everyone.

Bleh. That is the sound of me dying of the plague. Two weeks into the semester, and I once again have fresher's flu. I'm a Post-Grad now, you think we'd be immune to it...

On an even worse note, my laptop is broken again. Same problem with its power-supply so hopefully it's still under warranty and I won't have to fork out another £80 to get it fixed. Nick's going to drop it off at the shop when he gets out of work. This means that I'm stuck on Linux for the next week or so with no 'World of Warcraft' or an decent word processing software.

On a brighter note, I have some new pets. Since a flatmate inadvertently poisoned all of my stick insects, millipedes and spare ova, I've had to buy some more ova and stick insect nymphs. The nymphs I currently have are only in their second instar so will take a while to grow to adult size but are Spinohirasea Bengalenis (formerly Spiniphasma Crassithorax) - a species I've never kept before - so it's rather exciting. The ova I went for are Neohirasea Maerens (Vietnamese Spiny), Exotatosoma Tiaratum (Giant Australian Prickly/Macleay's Spectre), Trachyareaton Bruekneri (Giant Thorny), Phaenopharos Khaoyaiensis (Bud-Winged) and Phenacephorus Cornucervi (Bent Twig). As I have no idea how old these ova are some of them could take up to six months to hatch, but as always I will offer any spare ova on here, livejournal and eBay when they start to lay (but, due to trading laws, only if you live within Great Britain).

I also bought myself a pair of African Land Snails (Achatina fulica - we think) which we have named Shelley and Byron. Both of them arrived looking a little worse for ware, but seem perfectly happy now and sure eat a lot of lettuce. The other day, we observed that our little snails seem to really like each other. It seems that Shelley has decided to be the male in this relationship too. Good for him. Hopefully soon we should have some ova then. I hear that Land Snail eggs only take 2-3 weeks to hatch and, ideally, I'd like about five snails. I think five is a good number...

Sorry for my long absence. Firstly, I had to return home for a week to visit the dentist ammongst other things. Then I had to come back to Norwich to look for a summer job. In this, I failed miserably and ended up living hand-to-mouth until Nick and I went off to Tenerife for two weeks. During the space before our holiday, my laptop also took an unfortunate tumble and had to be rushed to laptop hospital. Nothing like an £80 repair bill to add to my finacial hardships...

Thus, with just under a month left until University begins again, I have decided that it's a fantastic time to go and visit my family and friend's back in Cumbria, in the hope of scoring free dinner for a few weeks. I intend to skip merrily to the train station later today in the hope of buying a ticket for next Monday. Hope to see you soon, my kind, generous, friends.

Other than this, I don't really have much to say. In the great laptop accident, I have managed to loose the two latest 'Tameizar' chapters and so have to rewrite them. While away, I spent a lot of time playing 'Final Fantasy III', but also wrote a short backstory about Ambrosio. I'm at a loathe to put it up though, as it contains heavy spoilers for 'Tameizar' itself. Let me know if you particulary want it though.

In case you're wondering about the holiday, Nick and I had a great time despite Nick's concerns about the large, volcanic crater that we could see from the sundeck above our appartment.

What the Hell have dA done? v6 is monstrous. Could the main page be much more complicated? It's certainly not as aethetically pleasing as it used to be...

Still looking for a job. It is not going well for me. I passed my degree with a 2.1 and so I now know that I'm going back to University in September to begin my MA course.

I have the outline of a drawing of Rini completed, I just need to paint her. Hopefully, I will find time to do that this weekend, as next week will be spent stressing about the graduation ceremony as my mother, who is coming to stay for three days, follows me around telling me that I'm fat. I love my family.

As most of my freetime has been spent either rewriting 'Tameizar', or browsing facebook while thinking of ideas for 'Tameizar', I find I'm not doing nearly as much as I want to. I really wanted to settle down and do some serious reading, but no such luck. There just aren't enough hours in the day.

I have been flitting between watching 'Monster' and 'Twin Peaks' though. The former is very slow, as it cuts nothing from the manga and so there are long stretches of dialogue. It's very exciting though, and as I haven't gone back and read the early volumes of the manga for a while it's helping to refresh my memory. I'm currently up to episode 27 (I think) which is well into the Thursday's Child arc. 'Twin Peaks' is as weird as I imagined it to be, and so I have very little idea of what's going on most of the time. Nick challenged me to figure out who killed Laura Palmer before the end of the first season, a feat which he claimed was impossible, and is now very disappointed that I managed to do it. Admittedly, my reason for thinking so was wrong, but I still spotted the killer.

Anyway, not to stagger into town in search of food. I leave you with my wii and Smash Bros codes. Let me know if you want to brawl. After a few hard weeks of work, I have finally unlocked all of the characters and arenas.

In order to try and lift the depression that comes with repeatedly being turned down at job interviews, I bought myself some Triops. Triops are a member of the shrimp family that kind of resemble minature horseshoe crabs (like the one that used to be on my dA ID all those years ago). You hatch them much in the way you hatch sea-monkeys, but they require a bit more care as they need a constant temperature and regular feeding to make sure they don't eat each other. Within a few weeks, they grow to be about 2 inches long. Mine are currently six days old and (we think) there are three of them, plus a few fairy shrimp who are probably destined to be eaten. Once Langly, Frohike and Byers get to a reasonable size, I will take photos so you can all see how cute they are

Also, I reccomend that you all visit The Tao of Kid's TV as it is a great source for torrents of rare kid's cartoons and series's. If you hurry and sign up, I am currently seeding 'The Flight of Dragons' - a brilliant and rare animated movie from the early '80s. Better hurry if you want to download your own copy of this masterpiece.
