RotH Round 4 - WyndhamWyndham chewed on the end of an unlit cigarette as he struggled through the throngs of people that crowded the platform. The journey between London and Lincoln had been short and uneventful. Although the trains forced to take had been stifling and clogged by travellers, nothing out of the ordinary had occurred. It would have been nice if the IBO had requisitioned him a car, but at least they ensured that his travelling expenses were covered.
Although the day was warm and bright, the ex-marine kept his jacked tightly fastened to conceal his gun. Over his shoulders was slung a light rucksack containing all of the basic equipment that the IBO had supplied his mobile phone, a knife, a length of rope, ammunition, medical supplies and a thin paperback handbook containing documentation about some of the more common creatures. The only other thing that they had provided him with was a cage.
The object had proven to be somewhat of a
RotH Round 1 - WyndhamIt had been a slow morning. Stifling a yawn with the back of one hand, Maris reclined in her chair as she cast a lazy eye across the deserted lobby. There had been some traffic in the reception area earlier at the beginning of her shift, as the available Hunters had clocked in to collect their most recent assignments, but since then nothing. During quiet spells such as this, there seemed little point in her being there at all. Adjusting the strap of her headphones to compensate for the additional girth of her long ears, she wet her fingertips and flicked the pages of her glamour magazine vacantly.
Had she been paying more attention to her station, she may have heard the drone of the elevator as it began its steady descent. She did not even register as its dull silver doors parted with a bright chime. With her attention captured by the glossy page of celebrity gossip, she did not even see the visitor until he was right in

Rise of the Hunters - WyndhamEthan Wyndham took a long drag of his last cigarette, rolling the smoke about in his mouth as he reclined against the rough stone barrier. The stifling night air caused sweat to bloom across his pale skin and made his worn leather jacket feel tight and restrictive across his broad shoulders. It would have been far more comfortable for him to remove it, but then it would have been just another thing to carry and he really needed to leave his arms free.
Nudging his dark glasses up onto his brow, the marine tilted his head back to gaze up at the sky. There were no stars that night, not that it really surprised him. The London smog was practically thick enough to obscure the sky. Above him, the pregnant clouds swelled and the sound of distant thunder growled like a wild beast. Hopefully, he would reach shelter long before the acid rain came.
Sighing deeply, Wyndham dropped the cigarette butt on the dry earth at his side and
